Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of state pension plans: Support the processing of retirement applications and benefit inquiries from public employees.
- Data Management & Entry: Maintain accurate and confidential records regarding member accounts and pension calculations.
- Member Support: Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and active members, answering questions regarding eligibility and plan details.
- Compliance & Research: Conduct research on pension regulations and assist in ensuring all administrative processes comply with state and federal guidelines.
- Document Preparation: Prepare correspondence, reports, and notifications related to retirement status and benefit disbursements.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, or Public Administration is a plus.
- Experience: No prior experience required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) is required.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with the public.
