Responsibilities
- Assist in the accurate calculation and processing of monthly pension payments and benefit statements.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding eligibility, vesting, and service credit via phone and email.
- Maintain and update member records in the departmental database with strict adherence to confidentiality standards.
- Support the annual actuarial valuation process by compiling and verifying data.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and memos for internal stakeholders and government auditors.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in data entry and mathematical calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Word) is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to handle sensitive personal and financial information with the utmost discretion.
- Valid driver's license may be required for occasional travel to satellite offices.
