Responsibilities
- Process and verify pension application forms for new retirees and active employees with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Assist the public and government staff with inquiries regarding pension eligibility, vesting schedules, and benefit calculations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in the state pension database and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with HR departments to coordinate the transition of employees into the pension plan.
- Prepare monthly pension statements and generate compliance reports for state auditors.
- Stay updated on changes in federal and state retirement legislation to ensure proper application.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all pension applicants.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, or Business is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot errors in data entry and calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict regulatory standards.
- Basic understanding of government processes and public administration is a plus.
