Responsibilities
- Conduct Pension Audits: Perform comprehensive reviews of pension plan records to ensure accuracy and strict adherence to ERISA regulations and federal standards.
- Process Retirement Claims: Analyze eligibility data and manage the end-to-end processing of complex pension claims and benefit distributions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in federal legislation and update internal pension policies to maintain 100% compliance with the Department of Labor requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide expert guidance and clear explanations to federal employees regarding their pension options, vesting schedules, and retirement projections.
- Data Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel and financial software to generate reports on pension fund performance and contribution trends.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the HR and Finance departments to optimize pension contribution strategies and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal payroll operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and pension administration software.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other relevant federal retirement laws.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial data with the highest level of confidentiality.
