Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 Technical Support: Assist users with hardware and software troubleshooting, including desktops, laptops, printers, and network connectivity issues.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and updates on federal government systems to ensure operational efficiency and security compliance.
- Asset Management: Assist in the tracking, inventory, and deployment of IT equipment and hardware assets within the facility.
- User Training: Conduct basic training sessions for staff regarding new software applications and security protocols.
- Incident Reporting: Log and track all IT incidents and service requests in the federal ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
- Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations and technical documentation in compliance with federal standards.
- Collaborate with Senior Staff: Work under the guidance of senior IT specialists to learn best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship Required: Must be a U.S. citizen to apply for federal employment.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR 3 years of general work experience in an IT support role.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), and hardware troubleshooting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse staff members and stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing federal regulations and technologies.
