Responsibilities
- Tier 1 Help Desk Support: Provide first-line technical assistance to federal employees via phone, email, and in-person support.
- Hardware & Software Management: Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Ticket Management: Log, track, and manage service requests using the Federal IT Service Desk ticketing system to ensure timely resolution.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine system updates, patch management, and inventory control of IT assets.
- Security Compliance: Support the implementation of cybersecurity protocols and assist in user awareness training regarding federal security standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and system configurations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; internship or academic project experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking concepts, and operating systems (Windows 10/11 and Linux).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (or willingness to undergo a background investigation).
- Work Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for federal employment.
