Responsibilities
- Tier 1 Technical Support: Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues, resolving user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
- Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues and access control problems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and hardware inventory using IT Service Management tools.
- Compliance: Adhere to federal IT security policies, accessibility standards, and data privacy regulations.
- User Training: Conduct basic training sessions for staff on software applications and IT best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
- Experience: No prior professional IT experience required; however, relevant internship, volunteer, or academic projects are highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Security: Must be willing and able to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
