Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 technical support to government employees via phone, email, and in-person assistance.
- Perform routine hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Monitor and manage the IT helpdesk ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Assist in the deployment of new software applications and security updates across agency networks.
- Document technical procedures, incident reports, and troubleshooting steps accurately.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to identify recurring technical issues and implement long-term solutions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and email protocols.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to obtain a State of Illinois background check and security clearance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (as some travel between agency sites may be required).
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven government environment.
