Responsibilities
- Member Data Management: Assist in the accurate and timely processing of new member enrollments, contribution updates, and benefit calculations.
- Customer Support: Serve as the first point of contact for retirees and active employees regarding pension inquiries and account status.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain precise electronic and physical records of pension contributions and personal data in compliance with state regulations.
- Compliance Assistance: Support the team in ensuring all pension processes adhere to federal and state financial compliance standards.
- Administrative Support: Prepare correspondence, process forms, and assist in the organization of pension-related documentation.
- System Updates: Learn and utilize internal pension management software to input and retrieve member information.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required. Previous clerical or customer service experience is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (40+ WPM) are required.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Availability: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required for state employment.
