Responsibilities
- Assist federal employees in calculating and processing pension benefits under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Review and validate retirement applications, ensuring all documentation meets federal compliance standards.
- Respond to inquiries from retirees and agency HR representatives regarding pension eligibility and payment schedules.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records using federal case management systems.
- Collaborate with the Payroll and Benefits divisions to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely disbursements.
- Stay current on federal legislation affecting retirement policies and update internal knowledge bases accordingly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts to the public.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with case management software is preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this federal position.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
