Responsibilities
- Process new and renewal pension applications and benefit requests with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist retirees and active members with inquiries regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit calculations.
- Maintain and update member records in the state database to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Prepare and review correspondence, reports, and correspondence related to pension plans.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to resolve complex member issues.
- Monitor incoming mail and emails to ensure timely responses to all stakeholders.
- Assist in the organization of retirement planning workshops and informational sessions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- No prior professional experience required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse members of the public.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced government office environment.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for occasional travel.
