Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and inquiries regarding tax policies and procedures.
- Assist customers in person and via email with tax account information and form requests.
- Enter and update taxpayer data accurately into the state’s digital systems.
- Resolve routine customer issues and escalate complex matters to senior staff.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with tax laws and agency protocols.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and contribute to a positive team culture.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and data entry aptitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
- Valid New York State driver’s license (preferred).
