Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce environmental regulations for municipal facilities and construction projects
- Conduct site inspections and environmental audits to ensure compliance with EPA and TCEQ standards
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives for city operations
- Prepare regulatory reports and documentation for environmental permits
- Coordinate with engineering and planning departments on green infrastructure projects
- Lead community environmental education programs and stakeholder outreach
- Manage environmental data collection and analysis using GIS systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or similar certification preferred
- Proficiency with environmental data management software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS)
- Knowledge of federal (EPA), state (TCEQ), and local environmental regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public reporting
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Experience with sustainability program development
