Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies aligned with Portland's Climate Action Plan
- Analyze regulatory compliance requirements and recommend policy adjustments
- Coordinate inter-departmental sustainability initiatives across city bureaus
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects
- Manage grant applications and reporting for state/federal environmental funding
- Lead community engagement sessions on environmental policy initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports for City Council and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in environmental policy development or regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in environmental impact assessment methodologies
- Strong knowledge of Oregon DEQ and EPA regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with grant writing and federal/state funding processes
- Valid Oregon driver's license
