Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce environmental compliance for state-funded projects in San Diego County
- Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed regulatory reports
- Develop and implement pollution prevention strategies for industrial facilities
- Collaborate with local agencies on environmental impact assessments
- Train stakeholders on state environmental regulations and best practices
- Manage permit applications and compliance documentation
- Analyze environmental data to identify compliance trends and risks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
- Certification in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) preferred
- Strong knowledge of California EPA regulations and federal environmental laws
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis software
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to travel to field sites throughout San Diego County
