Responsibilities
- Oversee environmental compliance inspections and enforcement actions for industrial facilities in the Houston region
- Analyze complex environmental data to identify pollution sources and recommend mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement community outreach programs to promote environmental awareness and regulatory compliance
- Prepare detailed technical reports and regulatory recommendations for senior leadership
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on environmental protection initiatives
- Train junior staff on regulatory requirements and inspection protocols
- Represent TCEQ at public hearings and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of environmental regulatory compliance experience
- Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of federal (EPA) and state environmental regulations
- Advanced data analysis skills with proficiency in GIS software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel throughout the region
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
