Responsibilities
- Analyze complex environmental regulations and develop actionable policy recommendations for Milwaukee County
- Collaborate with local government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders on sustainability initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive environmental impact assessments for development projects
- Lead public engagement sessions to gather stakeholder input on environmental policies
- Monitor compliance with state and federal environmental regulations
- Write and present policy briefs to senior leadership and legislative bodies
- Manage grant programs supporting Milwaukee's environmental infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in environmental policy development or regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis and GIS mapping tools
- Strong knowledge of Wisconsin's environmental regulations and federal EPA standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with public presentation experience
- Ability to navigate complex bureaucratic processes and build consensus
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and ability to travel within Milwaukee County
