Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide environmental policy frameworks aligned with Washington State regulations
- Lead cross-departmental sustainability initiatives for municipal operations
- Manage compliance monitoring for air quality and hazardous materials programs
- Coordinate public engagement sessions on environmental justice initiatives
- Analyze environmental data trends and prepare executive reports for County Council
- Mentor junior staff on regulatory compliance procedures
- Collaborate with tribal nations on natural resource protection agreements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental policy or regulatory compliance
- Washington State Department of Ecology certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in environmental data visualization tools (GIS, Tableau)
- Demonstrated experience with public sector grant management
- Knowledge of King County environmental regulations and ordinances
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Washington State driver's license
