Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce state/federal environmental regulations for industrial facilities
- Conduct compliance inspections and prepare detailed violation reports
- Analyze environmental data using GIS and statistical modeling tools
- Develop corrective action plans with regulated entities
- Coordinate with local agencies on cross-jurisdictional enforcement
- Train staff on emerging environmental compliance technologies
- Prepare testimony for legal proceedings and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance/regulation
- Valid California Environmental Specialist certification (or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency in EPA data reporting systems (e.g., ECHO)
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, and Clean Air Act regulations
- Professional GIS certification (e.g., Esri) preferred
- Experience with stakeholder negotiations and conflict resolution
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
