Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental compliance strategies for industrial facilities across North Carolina
- Analyze environmental data to identify pollution trends and recommend mitigation actions
- Conduct on-site inspections and investigations to ensure adherence to federal regulations
- Collaborate with state agencies on water quality improvement initiatives
- Prepare detailed technical reports and enforcement documentation
- Represent the EPA in public forums and stakeholder meetings
- Maintain compliance databases and track regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory work
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel 25% of the time
- Knowledge of Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act regulations
- Proficiency in GIS software and environmental data analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain federal security clearance
