Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of commercial facilities to ensure compliance with county environmental regulations
- Investigate pollution complaints and enforce corrective actions
- Develop educational materials for businesses and residents on environmental best practices
- Analyze environmental data to identify trends and recommend policy improvements
- Collaborate with state agencies on environmental protection programs
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain regulatory documentation
- Represent the county at community events and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of regulatory compliance or environmental monitoring experience
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis software (e.g., GIS, ArcGIS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings/weekends
- Knowledge of EPA and NMED regulations preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable
