Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain confidential veteran records in compliance with federal regulations (VA Directive 6402)
- Coordinate administrative workflows for veteran benefit applications and appeals processing
- Prepare official correspondence, reports, and statistical summaries for leadership review
- Serve as primary point of contact for veteran inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Support budget tracking and procurement documentation for departmental operations
- Implement records management protocols per National Archives standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required (5 U.S.C. ยง 3303)
- Minimum 2 years federal administrative experience or equivalent private sector experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and VA-specific systems (VBMS, VBA)
- Knowledge of federal records management (44 U.S.C. ยง 3301)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with veteran service organizations preferred
