Responsibilities
- Process veteran benefit applications with 99% accuracy and within strict deadlines
- Coordinate cross-departmental communications using VA systems (VBA, VHA)
- Manage confidential veteran records and ensure HIPAA/FERPA compliance
- Support outreach events and veteran engagement initiatives in Portland metro area
- Prepare detailed reports for leadership using VA-specific software tools
- Train junior staff on administrative protocols and VA documentation standards
- Act as primary liaison between veterans and benefit specialists
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years federal administrative experience (VA preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and VA systems (e.g., VBMS, VISTA)
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain immediately
- Knowledge of veteran benefits programs (Chapter 31, VRAP, etc.)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environment
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Salesforce)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
