Responsibilities
- Process and verify veteran benefit applications using federal systems (e.g., VBMS, VBA)
- Coordinate with multiple departments to resolve benefit discrepancies within SLAs
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records in compliance with federal regulations
- Respond to inquiries from veterans and stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person
- Support outreach initiatives for underserved veteran communities
- Generate monthly performance reports using Excel and federal reporting tools
- Assist in onboarding new temporary staff during peak processing periods
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (federal requirement)
- Minimum 2 years administrative experience in government/compliance roles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of VA benefits systems or federal regulations (FPM, 5 CFR)
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance within 30 days
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with diverse populations (veterans, families, agencies)
- Valid Minnesota driver's license for occasional travel
