Responsibilities
- Process veteran benefit claims with 99% accuracy under federal guidelines
- Coordinate with VA medical centers and regional offices to resolve pending cases
- Maintain confidential case files in compliance with federal privacy regulations
- Generate monthly performance reports using VA-approved software systems
- Respond to congressional inquiries and veteran correspondence within 48 hours
- Train temporary staff on VA protocols and documentation standards
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of processed applications
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required (mandatory for federal employment)
- Minimum 2 years federal administrative experience or equivalent
- Proficiency in VA benefits systems (VBMS/VBA) and MS Office Suite
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with FOIA requests and HIPAA compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field preferred
- Proven ability to meet strict federal deadlines and metrics
