Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for veterans and their families, answering inquiries regarding benefits and services with empathy and accuracy.
- Case Management: Process incoming applications, claims, and correspondence efficiently and accurately.
- Data Entry: Maintain and update complex databases and electronic records with strict adherence to federal privacy regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act).
- Coordination: Schedule appointments and coordinate between internal departments to ensure timely resolution of veteran issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all administrative processes comply with VA policies and federal guidelines.
- Reporting: Prepare routine reports and summaries to track workload and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation (Secret clearance preferred).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a government or customer service environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with case management software.
- Typing: Minimum 40 words per minute typing speed.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or set schedule.
