Responsibilities
- Process and manage federal employee benefits claims, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
- Conduct comprehensive benefits orientations for new federal hires and provide ongoing education to current staff.
- Review and update employee personnel files to ensure compliance with federal regulations and agency policies.
- Respond to inquiries regarding leave balances, payroll deductions, and enrollment options via phone, email, and in-person.
- Collaborate with the Payroll and HR departments to ensure accurate and timely compensation.
- Assist in the administration of performance evaluations and disciplinary actions according to federal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all benefits transactions and generate reports for management analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in federal HR administration or benefits management.
- Strong working knowledge of federal regulations (e.g., OPM, FERS, CSRS) and benefit programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
