Responsibilities
- Enforce institutional rules and maintain security in federal correctional facilities
- Supervise inmate activities and conduct routine inspections
- Respond to emergencies and implement crisis intervention protocols
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with mental health staff for inmate rehabilitation programs
- Operate security systems and conduct perimeter checks
- Train in defensive tactics and emergency response procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Pass medical examination and background investigation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Successfully complete Basic Training Academy within 120 days
- Physical fitness certification (push-ups, sit-ups, 1.5-mile run)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement (preferred)
