Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules to maintain security and order
- Conduct regular perimeter patrols and headcounts to ensure facility integrity
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches with rapid tactical intervention
- Document incidents, maintain accurate logs, and prepare detailed incident reports
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband introduction
- Operate security systems including control panels, cameras, and detection equipment
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques during tense situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum of one year specialized experience in law enforcement or corrections
- Ability to pass rigorous background check, polygraph, and medical screening
- Completion of Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC) certification
- Strong physical fitness and ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Excellent communication skills and crisis management abilities
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work rotating night shifts with minimal supervision
