Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and mitigate cybersecurity threats against federal networks using advanced SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified and unclassified systems
- Develop and implement incident response plans for cyber-attack scenarios
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to share threat intelligence and coordinate defensive strategies
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal cybersecurity frameworks
- Document security incidents and prepare comprehensive technical reports for leadership review
- Train federal staff on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threat vectors
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in network defense
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH) preferred
- Proficiency in threat detection tools (Splunk, CrowdStrike, etc.)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network architectures
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Ability to work under pressure during high-stakes security incidents
