Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain federal cybersecurity frameworks including NIST SP 800-53 standards
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government systems
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Provide cybersecurity training to federal employees and contractors
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on security operations and threat intelligence sharing
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, HIPAA, and other federal regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles with federal systems
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight) and vulnerability scanners
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP)
- Experience with incident response protocols and threat analysis
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
