Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain advanced cybersecurity protocols for VA networks and systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security risks
- Monitor security alerts and respond to cybersecurity incidents in real-time
- Develop security awareness training programs for federal employees
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal security standards
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into new systems
- Prepare detailed security documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Security+ CE certification or equivalent federal security clearance
- Minimum 3 years of experience in network security or cybersecurity operations
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Knowledge of federal IT security frameworks and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex security issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
