Responsibilities
- Monitor and protect federal IT infrastructure from cyber threats using advanced security tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government systems
- Develop and implement incident response protocols for security breaches
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on cybercrime investigations
- Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Train federal employees on security best practices and threat awareness
- Analyze emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in government or regulated industry
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
