Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security threats across federal networks using advanced SIEM tools
- Develop and implement incident response protocols for cybersecurity breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Collaborate with IT teams to enforce NIST and FISMA compliance standards
- Train federal personnel on cybersecurity best practices and threat awareness
- Lead forensic investigations of cyber incidents and compile detailed reports
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience
- Active Security+ or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Familiarity with federal IT security frameworks (NIST, FISMA, CUI)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
