Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for security threats using SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and lead cyber incident investigations
- Implement security controls and ensure compliance with federal regulations (NIST, FISMA)
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on cybersecurity operations
- Maintain security documentation and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience in federal or regulated environment
- CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification required
- Expertise in network security tools (Splunk, Palo Alto, Cisco)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
