Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain advanced intrusion detection/prevention systems across federal networks
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and penetration testing of critical infrastructure
- Develop and execute incident response plans for cybersecurity breaches
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and zero-day vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on threat intelligence sharing and mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and federal cybersecurity regulations
- Lead security awareness training programs for federal employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and network security tools
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network architecture
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and container technologies
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (required)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure
