Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain confidential veteran health records in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Process weekend admissions, discharges, and transfers with precision and timeliness
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Implement and audit electronic health record systems (EHR) for weekend operations
- Train staff on health information protocols and weekend-specific procedures
- Conduct regular data quality checks and compliance audits
- Support emergency response protocols during weekend coverage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in health information management
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., CPRS, VistA)
- Knowledge of federal healthcare regulations (HIPAA, VA policies)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication skills for weekend team coordination
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
