Responsibilities
- Manage and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Coordinate healthcare data exchange between VA facilities and external providers
- Implement and audit information security protocols for sensitive veteran health data
- Train staff on VA health information management policies and procedures
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Conduct regular compliance audits and generate performance reports
- Support VA's transition to next-generation health information technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare data management or EHR systems
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or equivalent certification
- Proficiency with Epic, Cerner, or VA-specific health IT systems
- Deep knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and federal healthcare regulations
- Strong analytical skills with data interpretation and reporting experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
