Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Process and release veteran medical information following strict federal protocols
- Conduct quality audits and data integrity checks for veteran health records
- Coordinate with clinical teams to resolve documentation discrepancies
- Train staff on federal health information management policies
- Implement security measures for protected veteran health data
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 2 years healthcare data management experience
- Familiarity with federal healthcare systems (VistA, MHS Genesis)
- Proficiency in EHR software and data analytics tools
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
