Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain electronic health record systems (EHR) in compliance with federal HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize healthcare technology workflows
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect veteran health data
- Train staff on new IT systems and healthcare software updates
- Manage vendor relationships for healthcare technology solutions
- Ensure system compliance with VA and federal IT standards
- Support telehealth infrastructure expansion across VA facilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare IT systems implementation
- Federal security clearance (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Certification in Epic EMR or similar EHR platforms
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH compliance requirements
- Experience with federal IT security frameworks (NIST, FISMA)
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA-specific IT credentials
- Excellent problem-solving and cross-departmental communication skills
