Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health record systems (VistA) to ensure HIPAA compliance and data integrity
- Coordinate IT infrastructure upgrades for medical facilities across Kentucky
- Develop training programs for healthcare staff on new digital systems
- Conduct risk assessments and implement cybersecurity protocols
- Collaborate with VA leadership on strategic technology initiatives
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
- Prepare compliance reports for federal regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, IT, or related field
- 3+ years experience with federal EHR systems (VistA/CPRS preferred)
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH regulations
- Project management certification (PMP or similar)
- Experience with healthcare data analytics tools
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship required
