Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure federal IT systems and network infrastructure in compliance with VA and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) standards.
- Perform system administration duties, including patch management, user access control, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues for federal clients.
- Analyze system performance and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability of federal applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and streamline federal business processes.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to safeguard sensitive veteran data against cyber threats.
- Provide technical support and training to federal staff on new systems and security protocols.
- Document technical configurations and maintain detailed logs for audit compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 3-5 years of relevant federal IT experience).
- Active Federal Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with federal IT frameworks such as FedRAMP, DISA STIGs, and ITIL practices.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols (TCP/IP), and firewall management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure federal environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a medical certification if required by specific facility policies.
