Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize federal IT systems including network infrastructure, databases, and cloud platforms
- Implement cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive veteran data and ensure compliance with FISMA standards
- Lead system integration projects across multiple VA facilities in Illinois
- Provide technical support and training to end-users across government agencies
- Develop disaster recovery plans and conduct regular system audits
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement VA technology modernization initiatives
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT systems administration or cybersecurity
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain Secret clearance)
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Familiarity with FedRAMP and NIST cybersecurity frameworks
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT service management experience
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work under federal compliance deadlines
