Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network systems and cybersecurity protocols
- Provide technical support for VA medical systems and electronic health records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT infrastructure modernization projects
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Ensure compliance with federal IT security standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Document system configurations and create technical documentation
- Train staff on new IT systems and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of progressive IT experience with federal systems
- Active Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification
- Proficiency in network administration (Cisco, VMware)
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
