Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record systems (EHR) to ensure HIPAA compliance and data security
- Lead implementation of VA's VistA EHR system upgrades across clinical departments
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex IT infrastructure issues affecting patient care
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop IT solutions for clinical workflows
- Monitor system performance and conduct vulnerability assessments for federal IT security standards
- Train staff on new IT systems and cybersecurity protocols
- Coordinate with regional IT teams on enterprise-wide technology initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare IT infrastructure management
- Active security clearance eligibility (Public Trust required)
- Expertise in VA VistA EHR systems and federal IT compliance frameworks
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification
- Experience with project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex IT systems in clinical environments
