Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks within federal networks.
- Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access management protocols.
- Monitor system logs and security events to detect and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as FISMA, NIST, and HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure infrastructure solutions for new projects.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members on cybersecurity best practices.
- Prepare and maintain detailed incident reports and security documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or IT infrastructure support.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with occasional on-site requirements at the federal facility.
