Job Overview
As an IT Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the security and functionality of federal networks. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to implement security protocols, manage system configurations, and ensure compliance with strict federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and security audits for federal information systems.
- Implement and manage security controls to protect classified and unclassified data in accordance with NIST and FedRAMP standards.
- Monitor system logs and network traffic to identify and mitigate potential cyber threats.
- Configure and troubleshoot hardware and software solutions for end-users and servers.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for audits, security assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Collaborate with system engineers to deploy updates and patches securely.
- Provide technical support and training to federal personnel on security best practices.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in federal or defense contracting environments.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with CISSP or Security+ certification preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation.
