Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols across VA IT infrastructure
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents in real-time
- Develop and update security policies and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams on system hardening and compliance
- Train staff on security best practices and protocols
- Ensure adherence to NIST and FISMA standards
- Manage security incident response and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in IT security or federal IT roles
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA compliance
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight)
- Federal government background clearance eligibility
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
