Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain NIST 800-53 security controls for VA systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Manage incident response protocols for cybersecurity threats
- Develop security policies and procedures for federal systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on risk mitigation strategies
- Monitor security logs and analyze network traffic patterns
- Ensure compliance with FISMA and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance (required)
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT security
- Certification in CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+
- Expertise in Windows/Linux system hardening
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight)
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and FedRAMP High requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
