Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain NIST 800-53 security controls across federal IT systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on VA infrastructure
- Develop incident response plans and lead cybersecurity incident investigations
- Manage security awareness training programs for federal employees
- Coordinate with CISA and OMB on security reporting and compliance
- Review third-party vendor security assessments and risk mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 5+ years of federal IT security experience
- Certification in CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+
- Expertise in FISMA compliance frameworks
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure security services
